Optional DSP capability
With the optional UT-106 installed you gain AF DSP* capabilities. The DSP includes the following to give you superior receive quality in your shack, vehicle or during DX' pedi-tion.

Noise reduction:
Pulls desired AF signals from noise. Outstanding S/N ratio is achieved, providing clean audio in SSB, AM and FM.
Automatic Notch filter:
This automatically minimizes beat signals and heterodynes while preserving the receive signal. Also, the notch frequency is automatically adjusted to follow interfering beat signals ^__ for example, reducing interference from RTTY signals during SSB operation.

See this little gizmo? It's an optional UT-106 plug-in module for your IC-PCR1000 - IC-703 - IC-910H - IC-R75... By installing it inside your IC-PCR1000 you'll get a DSP (Digital Signal Processing) filtered receiver with Automatic Notch Filter (ANF) and Noise Reduction (NR) functions. Installs in minutes*, and there's no soldering required.

ANF -- automatically attenuates beat tones, tuning signals, etc., even if they are moving. Works in SSB, FM and AM modes.

NR -- reduces noise components and picks out desired signals which are buried in noise. The received AF signals are converted to digital signals. Works in all modes.

Both ANF and NR features are accessed through the IC-PCR1000's on-screen controls via a new toolbar. When toolbar's ANF button is pushed on, an on-screen light comes on to visually let you know that Automatic Notch Filtering has been activated. NR activation is also shown by an on/off light, and the Noise Reduction level can be set via a knob on the toolbar.

Optional digital unit, UT-118 The optional UT-118 provides D-STAR format digital voice and slow data communication. The UT-118 includes the following digital features. Callsign calling In the digital mode, your callsign and the receiving callsign (or CQ message) are included in each transmission. The callsign squelch allows you to choose an incoming call selected by the callsign. Also, received callsigns are automatically stored in the memory. Position exchange with external GPS receiver When connected to an external GPS receiver, position information can be exchanged with other stations. When the receiving side is connected to a PC, position monitoring is possible. NMEA 0183 output and RS-232C interface are required. Position mapping software required (Not supplied by Icom).
