The
AR8200 represented a beacon when first released building on the successful
recipe of the AR8000 and technology developed for the award winning AR5000 base
receiver. Technology continues to march forward with the AR8200 and the new
AR8200-III. Initial deliveries of the new model have been received but all our
stock now sold. It could be December before another delivery is received.
Due
to shortages on some RF component used in the AR8200-II AOR Japan took the
opportunity to make some changes in AR8200 production and carry over some
aspects of the AR8600-II - notably the wider coverage to 3GHz.
The MkIII is also be supplied with 1500 NiMH batteries rather than Nicads. Note
should be taken of the comments made in the operating addedum below.
One other change is that the backlight can be set to be activated when the
squelch opens.
- Frequency coverage
530 kHz-3000 MHz no gaps
- All mode reception
with Super narrow FM plus Wide and Narrow AM in addition to the
standard modes

step correctly supported
- Step-adjust,
frequency offset, AFC
- Noise limiter &
attenuator
- Versatile band
scope with save trace facility
- Twin frequency
readout with bar signal meter
- Battery save
facility with battery low legend
- Arrow 4-way side
rocker with separate main tuning dial
